People who knew me before I was an acupuncturist often ask how I went from being a glass and jewelry artist to an acupuncturist. Well, that’s simple. Fate. I struggled for most of my life with strange symptoms that baffled the western medical world. I saw doctor after doctor, but it wasn’t until I was 24 that I finally discovered that food allergies and sensitivities were to blame. I did my best to avoid the triggering foods. I tried various modalities to help lessen the symptoms and reactions I was experiencing. There were little changes here and there. Finally, my Mom found an acupuncturist in Florida who said he could “fix me”! So I grabbed the dog, packed the car, and off we went to be “fixed”! At this point, what did I have to lose? After a lot of acupuncture and allergy elimination sessions I was much healthier and less reactive! Throughout this experience, I was very curious and asked lots of questions. It made me realize that I wanted to help other people like me. The next thing I knew I was applying to acupuncture schools.
I began my studies at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine to become a Licensed Acupuncturist. During my first two years of school I couldn’t quite figure out why I was there, except for a gut feeling that kept telling me I was supposed to be there. I was fascinated with the theory of acupuncture, but I struggled with the needles. The needles felt very invasive. I knew there had to be another way. While I was still in school I studied a few additional modalities that opened up a world where needles were not necessary! I finally knew why I was on this path. I continued to study various techniques after completing my four-year acupuncture program and passing the national boards. Eventually, I found a combination of techniques that felt exactly like what I had been searching for… all of the theory, none of the needles. What was even more exciting was that I found the results happened faster than I experienced with acupuncture and at a deeper level. What a bonus! My approach to illness and disease is looking at the body's imbalances to see what is ready to change. I'm thrilled to have techniques that allow me to work intuitively from the heart in a playful yet professional manner while incorporating everything I have learned thus far. They say “laughter is the best medicine” and I couldn’t agree more! My patients love having a session where they can experience happiness, laughter, giggles and heal all at the same time! For me, it is a pure joy and honor to be able witness these changes every day. It makes it clear why I love what I do!

"At first people refuse to believe that a strange new thing can be done... then they begin to hope it can be done... then they see it can be done... then it is done and all the world wonders why it was not done centuries ago." ~Frances Hodgson Burnett
Hi. I’m Jen Zitkov.
I work with the body, mind, and spirit on an energetic level.
Hence, Jen (that’s me) + energetics (what I do) = jenergetics. To give you a better idea, when I work with people I combine of all my training to best facilitate the changes that enable my patients to heal on all levels and be the best they can be. In my practice, I blend non-invasive techniques with theories from traditional acupuncture, quantum physics, tapping, physiology and neuroscience. Using a form of muscle checking we locate areas of imbalance. Together we are able to highlight the areas to the brain and nervous system encouraging them to send more resources to the areas to facilitate healing. This awareness helps to get us out of "stress mode" and back into "healing mode" allowing the body, mind, and spirit to rebuild, repair, and rebalance.
